- Hello and welcome to this week's edition of Adam Up
It's Good Friday here tomorrow. The extended Easter weekend is usually one that I spend with friends and family, eating together, drinking together, walking together, if the weather is good enough we often invite people to our beach hut to be with us.
This year is very different as a result of the coronavirus. We'll be in lockdown. We'll still eat plenty of chocolate I suspect, and we'll get to speak to friends and family online, but it is quite different.
If you've followed my social media feed, you'll have seen that I cut my own hair this week as my head was turning into what looked like a shelled almond (I am balding and my hair only seems to grow outwards at the sides these days!), and I bought a portable massage gun to replace my massage therapist while I am doing my home based workout sessions.
I've had to cancel some courses, but am still working with people online for therapy and training, so I am thankful for that, but am mostly thankful that I have remained healthy at home along with my wife and children during these challenging times.
In light of this challenging time we find ourselves in, and when much seems out of our control, my aim is to share some information and perspective that helps us to focus on those things we can and are able to control.
The main aim of this Adam Up regular newsletter has always been to equip readers with stimulating information and psychological tools to aid with varying facets of life as well as helping to concentrate upon and amplify positive shifts we can make in our thinking, our behaviour, our attitudes and perspectives - and it is during these times when so much seems negative that I want my work
to be able to help.
In this edition, once again I'm simply and exclusively offering up Covid-19 related resources and articles (though I have also included a link to a brand new video on the subject of past-life regression towards the end of this edition). I have a couple of new articles on how to protect your mental health during lockdown and ways to deal with coronavirus anxiety and a new video all about protecting mental health during this time that is packed with so much that I think you'll benefit
from.
Myself, and all of us who work here hope you will all stay safe and healthy wherever you are in this world. Maybe it'll be the most unusual Easter, but I hope you and your family get to enjoy it as much as possible. If you are a key worker who is still tirelessly working for the benefit of everyone else in isolation, then I salute you and will be thinking of you all when I am stood outside my front door clapping in
awe and appreciation on the street this evening for our amazing NHS staff.
And just as a reminder, you are receiving this email because you signed up for this ezine, downloaded a course prospectus or attended a course at some point in time. If you no longer wish to receive this weekly hypnosis and personal development ezine, you may unsubscribe by clicking the link at the foot of this email. I only want you to receive it each week if you find it of value and you actually read it. Also, we delete you from
our distribution if you have not opened these emails for a while.
In compliance with GDPR, the only information that we hold is your name and email address. We will not share these details with anyone and we will only use them to send you this and related, relevant broadcasts. This broadcast is only sent to people who have signed up with our double opt-in system.
Ok, let's get on with it, shall we?

How to Protect Your Mental Health During Coronavirus Lockdown and How To Cope With Coronavirus Anxiety....
|
Here in the UK, as with many other countries around the world that have been hit with the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, there is plenty of advice and guidance regarding social distancing, staying home, washing hands, being diligent
and considerate in order that the spread of the disease is minimised as much as is possible.
One of the things there is less guidance and advice about is how to protect your mental health during lockdown, during these challenging times. Many people are struggling to cope so I wanted to share something that offered up some assistance in that regard today, all of which is immediately applicable and supported by evidence.
In this video, I champion connection, gratitude, altruism and optimism. I discuss a terrifying panic-stricken 1970s sci-film, a genuine laughter virus that happened in Tanzania in the 1960s, I talk about nobel prize winning strategies for using one infection to kill another, I make lots of references to my favourite authors and researchers, all with the aim of helping you and your mental health during lockdown.
I hope that you and those around you are safe and well right now. I hope there is plenty that will help you here in this video.

I also wrote an article on the same topic that is less comprehensive, but a good reference and full of ideas:
Article: Protect Your Mental Health During Lockdown.
Understandably, there is a lot of anxiety and concern around at the moment.
“The key to overcome crisis is patience, courage, self-discipline, adaptation and alertness.” ― Amit Ray.
The coronavirus outbreak is rippling across most of the world. The number of infections sadly inches up — and sometimes jumps — each day. Here in the UK we are on lockdown and all around the world, social distancing is being imposed, self-isolation is being enforced and events and gatherings have been cancelled. Here, schools are closed for the foreseeable future and plenty of workplaces, retail outlets, gyms, bars, restaurants and offices are being closed for weeks. The global financial markets
are also swinging wildly. You’re likely wondering what lies in the future. You are not alone. I’ve probably not helped a great deal with this opening gambit either, eek!
Feeling anxious? You are not alone.
Anxiety and fear are what most of us have right now. The fear of losing your job. The fear of your company falling apart. And above all the fear to be infected by this covid-19 virus. Many people who are in good health survive this disease, but many are not sure if their immune system is compromised or not. Until we have a vaccine and adequate testing, there isn’t a huge amount that we can do except prevention, stay at home, isolate, keep safe, wash our hands regularly andwhen possible focus on
things that bring positivity in our disrupted lives and seek out opportunities that might be there for us.
If you are suffering from anxiety, as I’ve already written a couple of times here; know that you are not alone. Anxiety issues are real during these trying times. However, you can mitigate it’s effect on your mental health. You can accomplish some mental calmness and peace of mind when you apply yourself effectively.
According to the Mental Health Foundation in partnership with the Institute of Public Health at the University of Cambridge, found that more than one in five adults in the UK had felt panicked and three in 10 had felt afraid because of coronavirus. That is why it is incredibly important to act now and apply yourself accordingly. There are many things you can do, individually and collectively, to tackle and prevent excessive coronavirus anxiety. strategies to use, and for the full references....
Covid-19:
The Hypnotic Coronavirus Resource Pack....

A couple of weeks ago, I put together a series of hypnosis sessions, recorded brand new instructional videos and additional support audios aimed at helping to deal with some effects of the current Covid-19 coronavirus
pandemic.
I have put together an online programme that contains the following:
1. Self-hypnosis tuition to be able to employ the skills referred to in the rest of the programme.
2. Newly recorded instructional videos on how to use one the most efficacious behavioural methods for overcoming unwanted habits (habit reversal) as I lead you through the process to use to ensure you stop touching your face and putting your fingers near to your mouth.
3. Two hypnosis audio tracks for you to listen to to advance your immune functioning.
4. Two hypnosis audio tracks to help you deal with unwanted symptoms of the flu.
5. A hypnosis session to harness the power of placebo as well as hypnosis and give you a remedy to your symptoms.
6. Two hypnosis audio sessions to help advance your mood during this challenging time.
7. Two Hypnosis Sessions to help reduce stress and anxiety.

Covid-19:
Advancing Immune Functioning and Giving Your Immune System a Boost...

I shared this last time out, and have included it again here in case you missed it....
With the official announcement by the WHO stating that the covid-19 coronavirus is now considered a pandemic, I thought I’d offer up a lecture about what us hypnotherapists can credibly do to help. That is, over and beyond the practical official guidelines and offering stress/anxiety related support, I thought I'd share some detailed information about a direct way we (hypnotherapists and self-hypnotists) can help the cause by helping spread quality information and teaching or applying the use of
hypnosis to advance immune functioning.
There are some wonderful iniatives that some hypnotherapists are engaged in currently and I wanted to help support that.
For those of you who are not hypnotherapists, I mentioned some really useful articles in the video too, here are links to those:
I hope there is plenty of use for you here that can be used to advance your immune functioning; plenty of resource, information and application that can help during these challenging times.
From the archives at my personal website, these sessions may also be really relevant to help relieve symptoms for those who sadly contract the virus:

I did actually use some time last week to record a video covering the controversial subject of past-life regression. For anyone interested in this subject and what the evidence says about it, you can watch that video here:
An Exploration Of Past Life Regression: The Evidence and Critique.
Just about every individual and every professional field effected by the coronavirus, this time of uncertainty has led to me having to cancel courses, close my clinic and much more besides as I do my bit to help with the lockdown, the social distancing and preventing the spread of the virus.
I sincerely hope it will be over as soon as possible.
During this challenging time and in light of the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic, firstly I understand that qualified hypnotherapists may be challenged financially. Secondly, they may have some additional time on their hands to study and engage in CPD. Thirdly, they may be looking for ways to advance what they can offer when working remotely with clients.
During this time, any qualified hypnotherapist interested in studying one of my advanced online courses, can do so for half the usual fee - you can read more about these courses here:

Also, if you are interested in working with me therapeutically for hypnotherapy or coaching sessions, then read about it here. I shall be working with clients online during this time.
This week, my social media output has been filled with video clips of me flexing my muscles at the gym, memes about hypnosis, photos from my life and loads of articles from our vaults and some other bits and pieces.
