We have just had the Easter break and we have another Bank holiday weekend coming up so things seem a little disjointed with our regular routines here, my children tend to get up ridiculously early during the holidays and then we struggle to get them up in time on school days - any colleagues with some sort of children's lie-in reversal mindset hypnosis solution can forward suggestions on to me! (there must be
a great market for that!)

There is no new podcast this week due to the unusual times, but in coming weeks, I have some stellar guests that I am really excited about sharing the episodes with you, so next week we'll have a new episode, and some new features to freshen things up a bit.
Got lots of other new stuff to share with you this week this week. Got two new articles; one showing a number of ways you can boost your mood in just minutes and another showing how to boost your mental energy when it gets drained so easily with modern life as it is. I'm also sharing a new video that includes footage from a run I was on battling with the winds on the tail-end of Hurricane Hannah and I talk about how battling through similar winds and developing a particular type of grit
(including applying self-denial and relying on one's self) really helps when developing a hypnotherapy business (and in many other areas of life). I also have a new evidence-based hypnosis meme for you.
I've had loads of messages from people asking me how I'm getting on with veganism - and I am still eating as a vegan, have been since Boxing Day last year, I'm going to share some pictures on social media with regards to that very soon; I'm not really one for sharing food photos, but I've been cooking up some sensational meals. I've also drunk very little alcohol this year (only drunk anything alcoholic on 3
separate occasions since Boxing Day) and it has really served my ultramarathon training and weight training incredibly well indeed, I'm going to be writing more on this in coming weeks - I also train on an empty stomach and do two 20 hour fasts each week - there is no particular formula that I follow for these things, I just researched these areas greatly, experimented greatly with what worked best for me and developed my own programme that serves my goals best. Mindset is of course key. As I
said, I'll be writing about this in coming weeks and sharing much more that I hope is of value to you all - I'm not going to promote anything in particular (i.e not telling everyone they should become vegan, run marathons and stop drinking) but instead promoting a way of developing a mindset that allows you to reach your goals in whatever way suits you at this time in your life.

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about dealing with mental fatigue and exhaustion and this week I wanted to write specifically and in more depth about boosting mental energy.
We live in a time when many people are inclined to be very busy and are often stressed as a result. Life often becomes all about being faster, higher, bigger, and better. For some of us this might represent competitive stimuli resulting in masses of adrenaline being pumped through our bodies, and perhaps when balanced right can lead to us being effective. For others, it can be and often is, stressful and exhausting. Even the
strongest can slide into exhaustion and despair. Especially, if stress and pressure are constant and overwhelming. A life without real pauses and possibilities to recover does eventually lead to mental and physical fatigue.
Research shows that mental fatigue results in an inability to concentrate and an increase in simple mistakes. Unchecked, mental fatigue can lead to no time for meaningful relationships, debility, lack of real joy, not feeling stimulated, not leading a fulfilled life, etc. You can read more on this subject at these articles on that topic:...

The mind-body connection is well-documented in research from neuroscience, psychiatry, and medicine. Researchers at the University of Nottingham has recently found a link between energy and self-control.
The researchers found that self-control and energy are not only intricately linked but also finite, daily resources that tire much like a muscle. Even though we don’t always realise it, as the day goes on, we have increased difficulty exerting self-control and focusing on our daily task. As self-control wears out, we feel tired and find tasks to be more difficult and our mood sours.
Bad moods are an inevitable part of life. What can be particularly frustrating, however, is when we know we’re in a bad mood, but seem unable to snap ourselves out of it. Are you ready to get off your butt and start moving?
The first and most foremost step is you have to believe that you can do it. Frame your experience accordingly. If you find yourself feeling down, anxious, grumpy and low in energy, try a few of the suggestions in this new article and find what works best for you.
