- Hello and welcome to this week's edition of Adam Up
Happy New Year to you. In this first edition of Adam Up of 2019, I'm writing about how to make this year your best ever.
It has been an unusual new year for me which led to much soul searching as I look at the new year ahead. You may think it unusual for me to also be writing about our mortality when all else around are talking about reinventing, resolutions and reinvigoration. However, I shall be sharing my thoughts on the reasons accepting your own mortality is good for you and a wise thing to do....
The latest episode of the Hypnosis weekly podcast has gone live. Episode 104 was a fun episode. It featured Kathy Gruver who talked about using hypnosis in combination with mental imagery for advanced healing and is not all what you'd expect, and the episode has all of it's usual features..... Tune in here:
Hypnosis Weekly Episode 104 - Featuring Kathy Gruver.
I'm sharing with you two new videos today as well; one about a major bugbear of mine; an attitude I see in the hypnotherapy field that I refer to as the "crocodile dung attitude" as you will see. The second video is about something very close to my heart; inspired by a notion shared by Mahatma Gandhi.
I've got a bunch of other stuff too (including notifications about new projects), a fresh evidence based hypnosis meme of the week (a wonderfully unusual one), and a joke or two along the way.....
And just as a reminder, you are receiving this email because you signed up for this ezine, downloaded a course prospectus or attended a course at some point in time. If you no longer wish to receive this weekly hypnosis and personal development ezine, you may unsubscribe by clicking the link at the foot of this email. Ok, let's get on with it, shall we?
Why Accepting Your Mortality is Good For You:
|
Accepting mortality – sounds like a bit of a morbid way to start the year, I understand how that might initially appear and how worrying some might find the chosen imagery and the terms used on it at the top of my article page (link below).
That is a symptom of what I’m writing about today….
This past year (and this very new year), I’ve experienced my fair share of loss of close family and friends, and it has made me recognise and examine the notion of mortality.
In my efforts to deal with loss, it has also led me to accept my own mortality along with those who I’ve had to say goodbye to. I have written before on a topic that initially many people struggled with – the notion and practice of negative visualisation. The process involves you imagining how life would be if you lost those you love or are closest to, for example. It certainly helps you appreciate those people
when you are with them and helps you to be present when you are together.
“Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”
– Mahatma Gandhi.
Bhutan is known as one of the happiest countries in the world. It’s also known as a country that measures the happiness level of its citizens as the primary parameter of its development instead of measuring its GDP which most other countries measure.
With this unique focus, Bhutan has attracted many tourists and journalists who seek to find the secret of this happiness country.
So, what is the secret of Bhutan’s happiness?
Embracing the Dark Side
Eric Weiner explained one interesting idea in his article titled ‘Bhutan’s Dark Secret to Happiness.’ He tells that people in Bhutan habitually and consciously think about death (and mortality) every single day.
They believe that the idea of death should be ingrained in their daily lives so that they can accept the idea without being fearful of it.
This is common sense to them. Embracing every element of life as it is (including the dark side of it) without judging or covering up helps them stay being humble and grateful. Death (and mortality), to the Bhutanese, is a symbolic and important moment as much as birth. Click here to read the full article and explore the references supporting it.....
New Videos: Crocodile Dung & Being All Mouth
|
In this first video I talk in detail about a major bugbear of mine; a kind of anti-intellectual mindset and attitude that is not interested in how something works, why something works, and instead of understanding what we do, having a dismissive attitude of “as long as it works… who cares how, why etc.”
I find this incredibly frustrating and have encountered much more of it recently and decided to vent a bit about it in this video. Watch the clip and see why I think it is a problem and why I believe the “as long as it works mindset” is a “crocodile dung” mindset….
The “As Long As It Works” Attitude Among Hypnotherapists.
In this second video I go into detail about something that I see quite a lot out there in the hypnotherapy field….. Hypnotherapists and trainers making unsubstantiated claims, or making claims about who and how they are, rather than actually and genuinely being that.
At the heart of this video is the expression of Gandhi... Be the change you wish to see in the world. Gandhi recommended that we must live the changes we wish to see, and I talk about my love for this notion and my disdain for those who (to import from the school playground) are all mouth.
Here is the video, enjoy…

2. Interested in learning self-hypnosis? Want to get proof of your own self-hypnosis skills and create hypnotic phenomena by yourself, for yourself? Don’t know where to start?
Here’s your answer….
I get asked so often by so many people about the best way to learn self-hypnosis and to get some kind of evidence that they are doing it correctly. I usually reply to say that the single best way to know you are doing self-hypnosis correctly is to give yourself real-life evidence – by creating hypnotic phenomena.
What do I mean by “hypnotic Phenomena”?
This is our effect. The effect that we are going to create. With stage hypnotists, they create effects of people believing they are someone else, for example. With hypnotherapists they create effects of being free of habits, for example. With street hypnotists, they create the effect of someone believing their foot is stuck to the floor, for example. Within this self-hypnosis online educational programme, you are going to create effects that are going to be undeniably convincing to you that
you are using self-hypnosis well.
I have just put together a full blown science of self-hypnosis online educational programme that I think is unrivalled in the world today.
The programme contains many hours of video footage of me teaching self-hypnosis, plus a great many additional resources to help ensure you become an effective self-hypnotist and a teacher of self-hypnosis to others.
It combines the very latest evidence base and science including my own published research findings. You'll be on the cutting edge of self-hypnosis skills and knowledge with this programme.
It is new and I have just released it today, and therefore, the entire programme is yours for less than £100.00.
Come and read this page to learn more about it and and dive in to the ultimate self-hypnosis educational programme:
Science of Self-Hypnosis Educational Programme From Adam Eason
I think you'll love it and hope it helps you have a wonderful festive season and new year ahead.
Go read all about this, you are going to have a lot of fun with it, believe me. Enjoy engaging with self-hypnosis, most importantly, enjoy creating real-life undeniable hypnotic phenomena for yourself – it's going to blow your mind.
3. Are You Interested in Learning How to Conduct Rapid Inductions and Create Hypnotic Phenomena in others?
Then I have something very cool indeed for you.
I am delighted to invite you to a Rapid Inductions and hypnotic phenomena online training programme that is an evidence-based, fun filled education programme aimed at and created for hypnotherapists and students of hypnosis, looking to advance their range and fluency at inducing hypnosis rapidly and creating hypnotic phenomena in a professional manner.
This is an online programme based upon the last two decades of teaching rapid inductions and hypnotic phenomena. I have toured the world teaching this seminar.
Imagine the scene…. You’re trained and qualified and are working with a client in your lovely fancy therapy room, the lights are dimmed, the chair is fully reclined, your client has a lovely crochet blanket draped across them, you pop on the whale music and yes, it’s time to affect your best “Hush FM DJ” voice, a sort of whispering-Barry-White-on-dope type of impression, and you punctuate every sentence of your lengthy scenic
descriptive deepened with those immortal words “deeper and deeper”…… The client starts to softly snore, completely unaware any longer that they are supposed to be in a hypnotherapy session, to the point where you could be saying anything at all to them….
You emerge them at the end of the session, they rub their eyes the same way they would if they had just had a short nap (ironic?) and they utter those words that no hypnotherapist ever wants to hear and never should hear….
“…. it was a nice experience, but I am not sure I was really hypnotised”
or
“it was very relaxing, but I am not convinced I was in hypnosis.”
Maybe you have heard it said by other hypnotherapist’s clients? I hear this a great deal from clients that went to see other hypnotherapists before coming to see me. Surely this is a problem if you are a hypnotherapist, no?
Following this rapid inductions and hypnotic phenomena training programme (less than £100.00 investment too), your clients will never utter these words.
They will leave your office undeniably convinced that they were hypnotised. They’ll explain to friends, family and colleagues how impressive their experience was, and your reputation, referred business levels and credibility will all rise together.
Let’s dispense with the reclining chair.
Let’s dispense with the crochet blanket.
Let’s dispense with the whale music.
Let’s dispense with the affected Hush FM DJ impressions.
Let’s dispense with repeatedly saying “deeper and deeper” in monotone.
Let’s dispense with the clichéd, outdated caricature of how hypnotherapists behave, and let’s get skilled up!
Quality hypnosis that creates wonderful responsiveness needs none of these above things.
This training programme shows you how to induce hypnosis in a wide number of effective ways, and how to elicit a wide range of hypnotic phenomena and effects that will blow the minds of your clients in your hypnotherapy consulting rooms – it will add kudos, credibility and stimulation to every session you ever conduct with your clients - and the entire programme with it's hours of tuition is less than £100.00.
If you have ever heard your clients directly or indirectly say about their session with you that “it was a nice experience, but I am not sure I was really hypnotised” or “it was very relaxing, but I am not convinced I was in hypnosis” then this programme is going to change that.
Clients will leave your office undeniably convinced that they were hypnotised. They’ll explain to friends, family and colleagues how impressive their experience was, and your reputation, referred business levels and credibility will all rise together. Learn more about it here....

Make 2019 Your Best Year Ever
|
Your best year ever – It is a grand statement indeed.
Following some of the themes and topics offered up here today, this edition probably needs a more pumped, positive and inspiring read to get us charged for the new year, so here it is....
“We have to do the best we are capable of. This is our sacred human responsibility.” ~ Albert Einstein.
Yes, it’s 2019 already! I recognise that is the kind of statement that smacks of a man in his mid 40s, but to caricature myself even further – the past year did fly by!
Resolutions have been made, and some have already been broken. The gyms have started emptying since the 2nd of January. If you’re looking to make 2019 your best year ever in terms of personal and professional progress, you may have to look at things differently.
"Success in life comes not from holding a good hand, but in playing a poor hand well.” ~ Denis Waitley.
Most of our new year’s resolutions often start with the best of intentions yet often quickly run out of steam, only to become a dim and distant memory by Spring. And there’s a good reason for that: it takes more than a simple promise to bring about lasting change and create your best year ever.
Whether you have set your goals for the year or it’s still on your to-do list, read this article for the evidence suppoirting these steps, and a guide for how make 2019 your best year ever!
This week, my social media output has been filled with memes about hypnosis, photos from my life (including those from teaching events) and loads of articles from our vaults (including some really controversial ones from the past few years!!) and some other bits and pieces.
You can follow and keep up to date here:
Additionally, if you are a student, graduate or friend of my college, then come & join our Facebook group for hypnotherapists, it has some wonderful discussion on there:
I'm completely booked up with regards to being able to take on any new clients for hypnotherapy, mentoring or coaching currently, so have removed those links from Adam Up until the new year.
For those of you interested in finding out a bit more about working or studying with me, here are the pages to go and do that:

Some awful New Year one liners....
My resolution was to read more so I put the subtitles on my tv.
I was going to quit all my bad habits for the new year, but then I remembered that nobody likes a quitter.
I love when they drop the ball in Times Square. It's a nice reminder of what I did all year.
To kick start my New Year: I took an IQ test and the results were negative.
A New Year's resolution is something that goes in one year and out the other.
What happened to the man who shoplifted a calendar on New Year's Eve? He got 12 months!
It's officially New Year's Eve, you only have a couple of hours to do all the things you will resolve not to do in the new year.
May all your troubles last as long as your New Years resolutions?
I know, groan.... Thanks to all who continue to send them in to me and tag me online with jokes each week.
