- Hello and welcome to this week's edition of Adam Up
This week I have a major free giveaway, something to help anyone learn self-hypnosis and use it to create real-life irrefutable hypnotic phenomena!
I have another video that is asking more serious questions about much of the myth and misinformation spread by some hypnotherapists about the actual evidence for using hypnosis for smoking
cessation.
I'm also sharing a new article that focuses upon being brave - yes indeed, my main theme this week is all about living life with more courage and living a more rewarding life as a result.
I've got a bunch of other stuff too (including notifications about upcoming courses), a fresh evidence based
hypnosis meme of the week, and a joke or two along the way..... And just as a reminder, you are receiving this email because you signed up for this ezine, downloaded a course prospectus or attended a course at some point in time. If you no longer wish to receive this weekly hypnosis and personal development ezine, you may unsubscribe by clicking the link at the foot of this email. I only want you to
receive it each week if you find it of value and you actually read it. Also, we delete you from our distribution if you have not opened these emails for a while.
In compliance with GDPR, the only information that we hold is your name and email address. We will not share these details with anyone and we will only use them to send you this and related, relevant broadcasts. This broadcast is only sent to people who
have signed up with our double opt-in system.
Ok, let's get on with it, shall we?
A FREE Self-Hypnosis Roadmap - Learn How to Create Your Own Hypnotic Phenomena |
Interested in learning self-hypnosis? Want to get proof of your own self-hypnosis skills and create hypnotic phenomena by yourself, for yourself? Don’t know where to start?
Here’s your
answer….
I get asked so often by so many people about the best way to learn self-hypnosis and to get some kind of evidence that they are doing it correctly. I usually reply to say that the single best way to know you are doing self-hypnosis correctly is to give yourself real-life evidence – by creating hypnotic phenomena.
What do I mean by “hypnotic Phenomena”?
This is our effect. The effect that we are going to create. With stage hypnotists, they create
effects of people believing they are someone else, for example. With hypnotherapists they create effects of being free of habits, for example. With street hypnotists, they create the effect of someone believing their foot is stuck to the floor, for example. Within this self-hypnosis roadmap, you are going to create an effect that is going to be undeniably convincing to you that you are using self-hypnosis well.
This roadmap teaches you how to adopt the hypnotic mindset, how to induce
self-hypnosis, how to absorb yourself profoundly in self-hypnosis, how to create your own incredible hypnotic phenomena, and then how to exit self-hypnosis and develop your skills with it. I think you are going to love this. To get the roadmap and guide sent through to your inbox straight away, just visit this page on my college website:
A FREE Self-Hypnosis Roadmap – Learn How To Create Your Own Hypnotic Phenomena. Go download this, you are going to have a lot of fun with it, believe me. Enjoy engaging with self-hypnosis, most importantly, enjoy creating
real-life undeniable hypnotic phenomena for yourself – it's going to blow your mind.

My latest video.... How Good Is The Actual Evidence For Using Hypnosis To Stop Smoking?
|
The vast majority of people that I encounter with a moderate amount of knowledge about hypnotherapy, tend to think that hypnotherapy is first and foremost a great way to stop smoking. They think of it as the best application of
hypnosis. It seems to be best known as a stop smoking remedy to many people.
My exploration of the evidence available combined with my own clinical experience leads me (and many of my colleagues) to believe that hypnotherapy is brilliant for dealing with pain, overcoming anxiety, enhancing sleep and many other applications but stopping smoking is a more advanced and tougher challenge altogether.
There are some amazing and impressive claims made about using hypnosis and hypnotherapy
for stopping smoking. In this video I explore and robustly examine such claims. How good is hypnosis at helping people to stop smoking? There has been a LOT of research on this topic and in this video I share it.
There is also a great deal of research on how many sessions advances results, some are very surprising, especially given that there is such a proliferation of single session stop smoking programmes offered by hypnotherapists.
View the video, I hope you
find it stimulating and interesting:

This week, I set up a playlist of videos at my YouTube channel that explodes and lot of myths that are taught by so many hypnotherapy training schools. Go and have a look, and do subscribe and comment if you'd like to and you'll get the first notifications of all the new videos when they are published.

I shared this last week and wanted to offer it again as it was so popular.....

This Week's Main Article: How to Be Brave. How to Live With Courage... |
Being brave, my topic today. At first sounds obvious and simple, but is not necessarily always as it first
seems.
“If you always put a limit on everything you do, physical or anything else, it will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.” – Bruce Lee.
You can be tough, strong,
opinionated, and loud. You can disagree with others around you. You can pick fights. You can be aggressive. You can be domineering. You can be the person who always goes after what you want. You can take charge. You can say what you want while standing on a pedestal so that everyone can hear you. You can think and believe wholeheartedly that you possess the power.
None of this necessarily makes you brave.
It was Mufasa who wisely told young Simba in the Lion King that “I’m only brave when I have to be. Being brave doesn’t mean you go looking for trouble.”
The dictionary defines brave as “possessing or exhibiting courage or courageous endurance” and another states “the quality or state of having or showing mental or moral strength to face danger, fear, or difficulty : the quality or state of being
brave.”
Bravery isn’t something you necessarily seek out. It is not always something we plan. Sometimes, it will appear when you least expect it. The good news is researchers have found that bravery is a skill, and like all skills it can be learned, strengthened and mastered with repeated practice.
What It Means To Be Brave: “Take chances, make mistakes. That’s how you grow. Pain nourishes your courage. You have to fail in order to practice being brave.” – Mary Tyler Moore.
Whether in the personal or professional realm, being brave means knowing what you stand for and showing up for it. Being in it for the long haul, the
marathon, putting one foot in front of the other, whether you feel like it or not. Being willing to be uncomfortable, maybe even awkward or wrong. Saying yes and no. And acting with intention and integrity.
You build the muscle of “brave” by being brave. Day after day after day. Bravery is part of your character as well as being visible in your behaviour. It is facing the world when it feels like the world is against you.
Here are some ways to advance your bravery and have more courage in life, just follow
these simple steps by reading the full article with links to the scientific references here…. “Being brave isn’t the absence of fear. Being brave is having that fear but finding a way through it.” – Bear Grylls.
No one is without some kind of fear. Being brave
doesn’t mean that you are not afraid. I think you are that much braver when you overcome fear. When you face fear head on and break the “scared” barrier, that is bravery at its finest.
Bravery could be trying to do something when you don’t know what the outcome will be, overcoming the fear of failure. Maybe it is time for you to address some of your long-held fears and decide to do something
about them – this is developing bravery, this is also going to lead to a more rewarding and fulfilling experience of life.
We live in a world that induces fear and relies upon it – the news, political systems, marketing and advertising all use fear in one way or another to sell you ideas, products, services and more besides. It is tough not to fall prey to it all. Choose ongoing bravery and courage and overcome fear, and become more resilient to it as a result. Go read the article. This week, my social media output has been filled with memes about hypnosis, photos from my life (including some beach life photos from the Bank Holiday weekend we have just had) and loads of articles from our vaults
(including some really controversial ones from the past few years!!) and some other bits and pieces.
You can follow and keep up to date here:
Additionally, if you are a student, graduate or friend of my college, then come & join our Facebook group for hypnotherapists, it has some wonderful discussion on there:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/AngloEuropeanCollegeofHypnosis/ ====== Did you know that you can listen to every single hypnosis audio that I have ever recorded for just £7.50? That is right, since Keith and I parted ways, he is running everything to do with my hypnosis audio sales separately without me interfering. Without me to hold him back, he has gone crazy and is offering you a deal whereby you can access all my hypnosis audios along with a number of other hypnosis tracks, for just £7.50.
It is the way the audios are being
delivered now - it is like Netflix for hypnosis audio lovers. Go and have a look at what I'm talking about here:

I'm completely booked up with regards to being able to take on any new clients for hypnotherapy, mentoring or coaching currently, so have removed those links from Adam Up for a few weeks.

On the subject of being brave, I have a joke featuring an act of courage this week.... A man appears before St. Peter at the pearly gates.
"Have you ever done anything of particular merit?"
St. Peter asks. "Well, I can think of one thing," the man offers. "On a trip to the Black Hills, out in South Dakota, I came upon a gang of macho bikers who were threatening a young woman. I directed them to leave her alone, but they wouldn't listen. So I approached the largest and most heavily tattooed biker I smacked him on the head, kicked his bike over, ripped out his nose ring and threw it on the ground, and told him, 'Leave her alone now or you'll answer to me.'" St. Peter
was impressed. "When did this happen?" "Just a couple minutes ago."”
Hahaha, I enjoyed that one. Thanks to all who continue to send them in to me and tag me online with jokes each week.
