Edition #617
Hello and welcome to this week's edition of Adam Up

This weekend just gone by was module one of our latest hypnotherapy practitioner diploma course. The sun shone, the air was fresh, the course is at it’s most updated and current, and I had a new t-shirt!

I tend to have a mixture of excitement and nervousness each year when I start with a new group. I am always sad about letting go of my previous year’s group, though I keep in touch and see them at our ongoing events.  I have a strong bond with every group as I put so much into wanting them to have the best education and foundations for running an effective business as a hypnotherapist.

This new group were wonderful, as I knew they would be; really engaged, asked the right kinds of questions, approached the subject well, prepared diligently as I ask, and all embraced the subject matter and the college ethos beautifully, it made me very happy indeed.

This always means that we have now set in place the dates for the next diploma course. The dates are all written up in the latest version of the diploma course prospectus that you can download from the diploma course page on the college website here:

It starts in October 2018 – all the weekend dates are in the prospectus or you can contact me via email and I’ll send them on to you accordingly.

Additionally, we have added to the course prospectus once again our Intensive Diploma Course which I will return to teach as of 2019. This is the exact same diploma course, but taught in an intensive, immersive format of two 9 day tuition blocks. It was originally set up so that overseas students could attend with more ease, but has appealed to those more local as well.

With the dates being a fair while into the future for these courses, I have put together one of the best early bird offers I have ever offered. I did write to everyone who has ever downloaded a prospectus earlier this week. However, if you’d like to ask me directly about the details, I’ll happily send them on to you directly, just send me an email and I’ll reply with the details.

This early bird offer for both course formats will only be available for a limited time, but it is quite incredible.

If you want to see the picture of my new teacher t-shirt and a selfie I took of our new group last weekend, go read this….

Get In The Course For Free
We’ve made a few changes around here in recent months. I’ve announced that Keith and I have gone our separate ways and so he is not around to continue recording and adding video materials of our courses to our members area as I’d like to keep happening.

Therefore, if you or anyone you know has an interest in studying hypnotherapy, and our advanced courses, then how would you like to sit in on the courses run here in Bournemouth for free, in return for recording them? You will not have to edit the footage, just record it all to a good standard and then give me the footage to edit and add to our various members areas.

If this is of interest to you, get in touch with me – my college email address is on all of the pages on this website or send a message from the ‘contact us’ page. I’ll then tell you all the dates of upcoming courses and events I want filmed and you can let me know if you can make that work.

Better Your Relationship With Yourself
Onto today’s main article. My main theme this week, has been learning to have a better relationship with yourself.

A better relationship with yourself – something we all could do with, even if just occasionally….

“Find the love you seek, by first finding the love within yourself. Learn to rest in that place within you that is your true home.” ‑ Sri Ravi Shankar.

When looking to develop a better relationship with yourself, first ask yourself: Do you judge yourself fairly, comfort yourself when you messed up and have encouraging thoughts when trying something new? Or are you not happy with who you are, what you do, who you are with and what you have? Are you overly critical of yourself and hard on yourself?

Well this week, regardless of your answers to the above questions, I’ve been writing about developing a loving friendship with yourself; having a better relationship with yourself – something which as I’ve already said, we all can benefit greatly from.

Many people struggle to have a better relationship with themselves due to lacking self-belief and having a poor self-image.

Surefire Ways to Undermine Your Self-image:

• Comparing yourself to others – your peer group, strangers online, celebrities
• Pretending you’ve got it together – exciting life, success, glamour
• Believing that you are not okay as you are but should be better or different
• Dwelling on what’s wrong with you, your faults, failures and what you lack
• Difficulties finding any positive qualities about yourself
• Trying to meet some standard of perfection, whatever perfect means to you (or others)

What Is Happening Inside Your Mind?

You might be so used to self-doubt, self-criticism, self-neglect, even self-loathing, hate or shame that it almost seems normal. Fat, ugly, stupid, boring, a klutz, too nerdy, a freak … Whatever ideas you have about yourself, they were formed by you and have been influenced by others and the way you have interpreted life experiences.

Do go and read this article if you have ever suffered from self-doubt:

You may have absorbed as your ‘truth’ demeaning messages about yourself at different stages in your life, through a variety of experiences. That ‘truth’ will stay with you until you see it for what it was: unfair, unjustified, loveless, cruel or at best thoughtless. If your damaged self-image is reinforced by the cultural and social environment you live in, and especially the media, it’s no wonder your internal world turns dark on occasions and you have a hard time liking yourself.

“The most powerful relationship you will ever have is the relationship with yourself” – Steve Maraboli, Life, the Truth, and Being Free

Go have a read of this week’s new article on this subject and start developing a better relationship with yourself:

I’ve been working with a client recently who told me that he thought everyone in his office should have hypnotherapy sessions to improve and levee mood at a tough time for the business he worked in. So earlier this week, I also shared online a LOAD of techniques and strategies for elevating mood. Engage in these processes and you’ll be bouncing and brimming with joy.

Here are plenty of ways to help elevate your mood, go explore and have a good read:

Joke Of The Week
Here are a few jokes that the Independent National Newspaper shared on International Happiness day, jokes they considered to be among the funniest, enjoy!

  • How many tickles does it take to make an octopus laugh? Ten tickles.

  • Two aerials met on a roof. They fell in love and got married.  The ceremony was rubbish - but the reception was brilliant

  • Why was the mortgage so upset? Because it was a loan

  • Why was the horse so happy? Because he lived in a stable environment

  • Do you want to hear two short jokes and a long joke? Joke, joke, jooooooooooooke.

  • The Beach Boys walk into a bar. One says to the other “Round? Round? Get a round? I get a round?”

  • Two dogs are walking along a street. They are passed by a third dog driving a lorry load of logs.  One turns to the other and says: “He started fetching a stick and built up the business from there.”

  • Two cannibals eating a clown, one turned to the other and said: ‘does this taste funny to you?’

  • What do you call a Frenchman wearing sandals? Philippe Philoppe

  • Did you hear about the magic tractor? It turned into a field.

  • Why was the bee flying down the motorway with his legs crossed? He was looking for a BP station

  • I have a gravel path in my garden while my neighbour's is concrete. I think mine wins on aggregate.

Hahahahaha, I loved those.
