After my two one day seminars, I was back in class for the weekend teaching my diploma course.
Saturday was April Fool’s day and I tried to start off the day by sharing the news about some incredible new hypnosis research, however, I was unable to keep a straight face and my ability to prank the class was foiled before it had even begun.
I was attempting to tell them the news that hypnosis had been used for limb regrowth, a story that I wrote about way back in 2011 on April Fool’s day, I thought you might like to read that article, for a bit of fun:
At the end of last week, I wrote about building momentum.
It seemed like a natural progression considering the topics we’ve covered in recent weeks. We are getting to
that stage of the year where resolutions seem a long way off and many are losing touch with them, and many people are returning to familiar patterns of safe behaviour and habits.
Therefore, as a means of introducing a wonderful new stimulus and as a means of reinvigorating the year, I wrote about using the snowball
effect, and building some new momentum in life with this article:
A few years ago, I also wrote about using the snowball effect as a way of advancing your
determination, so you will enjoy this article too and use it conjunction with the new one:
This week, my focus has been on the topic of empathy. Empathy is something that typically people tend to think of as being innate, or a natural quality, yet the evidence tends to suggest that it is a skill that can be
developed by applying intelligent reasoning and being aware and applying purposeful skills.
In particular I write about how I deal with challenging situations in my classrooms using empathy to truly aim to understand the other persons perspective and to help them feel at ease communicating with me. Have a read of
this:
As the name suggests, the previous article is founded in quality research and evidence based principles.
I also wanted to offer up a way of advancing all the practical skills in that article by combining those skills with self-hypnosis to advance and amplify empathy, and here is a step-by-step process that will help propel your empathy to a whole new level:
Empathy is so useful in so many ways, I think you’ll benefit greatly
from developing it.
