So why am I (Keith Watson) writing Adam Up this week?  

Well if you have been receiving these e-mails for any period of time - I guess you may have realised that Adam works extremely hard.   As usual he is working on a new project that we will be telling you about shortly.  He asked me if I would share a few words with you all this week which will give him a bit of space to catch up with himself.  

So here goes with a few little observations and behind the scenes insights.

The Hypnotherapy Diploma course which has been running one weekend per month for the last 10 months was completed this last weekend.  Below you will see some of the newly qualified Hypnotherapists receiving their certificates.

Now I have had the undoubted privilege of attending this course the whole way through as we have been videoing the whole thing to add to our Platinum Membership site.  I hasten to add that my son Tom has also been there editing away in the corner and getting the recordings online usually by the Tuesday following the course weekend.

Videoing all the seminars and courses is a major undertaking but one that we feel is important as it sets us apart from other Hypnotherapy Schools as it adds a massive resource that students and hypnotherapy enthusiasts can refer to in their studies.

For me - just being there throughout the whole course, almost like a fly on the wall, has been a really fascinating and educational experience.

The first thing that struck me when 25 strangers trooped in for Module 1 of the Diploma Course way back in October was just how diverse a group it was.  The characters (and for goodness sake there were some characters) could not have been more varied and from totally differing backgrounds and occupations.  To try to imagine on that first weekend - who would become friendly with who etc - all I can say is that I for one got it totally wrong. 

At times during the 10 months I found myself thinking about the group dynamics and why they were working so well despite, 

• age differences, 
• behavioural differences, 
• background differences, 
• educational differences, 
• fashion and style differences  and so on.  

I believe that some of the positive aspects that I am alluding to here is down to the course itself - which by its nature explores human nature and behavioural issues.  

There is so much self-analysis, discussion and therapeutic hypnosis sessions carried out between all the students that they in fact gain from the course in a way that helps them understand other people empathetically.

What a fantastic bonus from a course - not only getting a qualification for a new career to help others - but to also gain by tackling their own personal issues throughout the course.  

I spoke to several of the group who confirmed that they had really been helped to understand and overcome personal issues - directly as a result of being on the course.

I so enjoyed intermingling and chatting with this group of students and I am thankful that they enriched my experience of life.

No wonder Adam so enjoys teaching this stuff - How Rewarding

Apart from videoing the Diploma course at the weekend we also videoed the 'Science Of Self-Hypnosis' Seminar on Friday.

This is my favourite one day seminar that Adam gives and I personally take a great interest in it and how it is presented because I really want to get as many people as possible - who know little or nothing about hypnosis - booked onto this seminar .  

Why?  

Basically to attempt to dispel the myths and rubbish that surround this subject unfortunately perpetuated often by a totally misinformed media.

I've got intelligent friends who just don't get self-hypnosis and talk so much nonsense about it.

My wife and I have both got backgrounds in the health service and have many medical friends who talk nonsense about hypnosis and just don't get it.  

I have church friends who seem to think it is sinister or even satanic.

Nothing could be further from the truth and attendance at this one day seminar will totally convince anyone that this is an amazing skill that can be learned and used in so many areas of life. 

I have had some success in convincing some people that this is one of the most powerful and useful skills you can take on board - but boy is it an uphill struggle.  

I really do challenge anyone that thinks this is all a bit weird to attend this seminar with an open mind.  I think you will be pleasantly surprised.

Joke Of The Week

A guy is looking for a place to sit in a crowded university library, so he asks a girl: "Do you mind if I sit beside you?"

The girl replies in a loud voice: "I DON'T WANT TO SPEND THE NIGHT WITH YOU!"

All the students in the library start staring at the guy, who is very embarrassed and moves to another table.

After a couple of minutes, the girl walks quietly over to the guy's table and says with a laugh: "I study psychology, and I know what a man is thinking. I guess you felt embarrassed, right?"

The guy then responds in a loud voice: "$500 FOR ONE NIGHT? ..... THAT'S TOO MUCH!"

All the people in the library look at the girl in shock.

Looking down at his book, the guy whispers to the girl: "I study law, and I know how to screw people."
