Hello and welcome to this week's edition of Adam Up

The final day of January is already upon us. I hope you have had a productive start to the year and enjoyed our running campaign. We have been delighted with the responses and hope that your running endeavours continue on throughout the year and lead to much happiness and health.

This week, my friend James Brown and I ran a rapid inductions seminar which also included demonstrations and explanations of a number of uses of hypnotic phenomena.

We recorded the new material and will be adding it to our existing product (as well as in our members area) making it a very comprehensive resource for anyone learning rapid inductions and hypnotic phenomena for use in a therapeutic environment.

Watch out for it's release next week here in Adam Up as we are going to have a very good deal on for it's release.

Onto Today's Adam Up Then...

Remember that gag?
"What do you do if you see a spaceman?".... "Park in it man."

Well today, we are going to use hypnosis to go into space. Well for what reason precisely?

Let me explain...

I recall one of the first times that I had the age-old notion of 'The View From Above' shown to me with a meditation and I often use it in therapy sessions with my clients to help them get a sense of perspective.

Within the Meditations of the Emperor Marcus Aurelius Antonius are a couple of references of that notion:

Plato has a fine saying, that 'he who would discourse of man should survey, as from some high watchtower, the things of earth.'

And

"Think of the totality of all being, and what mite of it is yours; think of all time, and the brief fleeting instant of it that is allotted to you."

There are a number of ways that the view from above notion can be used therapeutically, but the best and deepest way was shown to me and taught to me by Donald Robertson and is a great way to alter the perspective, not just in terms of stepping out of your usual perspective, but also in becoming aware of the vastness of the universe, the vastness of time, the massive diversity of life on the planet and where we sit within it all.

Today is not really going in to as much depth as that, but is a lesser, simpler version with a slightly different means of benefiting from it.  Here we are going to use self-hypnosis, go into space and learn some things while there.

I often get emails from people when I have offered up a self-hypnosis process in Adam Up, saying that they struggle to remember all the steps in the process that I have offered up that week, and I understand that. Keith often mentions the same to me, yet I persist with it.

Why?

Well, the key is that I prefer you to have too much information than not enough. If you read through the process and understand it, get a general idea of it in your mind, then you'll be in a position to do it as best as you can and not necessarily in as much detail as it is written here. Alternatively, you can go and invest in the audio versions of these processes that we have recorded and advanced that are for sale at http://hypnosisfordownload.com

Just relax into it and follow these simple steps:

Using Self-Hypnosis To Get Spaced Out:

Even though I title this (with my tongue planted firmly in my cheek) getting spaced out, you are actually required to pay attention to the ongoing process, let your body relax, but you have to focus and think intelligently throughout

Step One:

Get yourself into a comfortable position and one whereby you are going to be undisturbed for the duration of this exercise. Make sure your feet are flat on the floor and your hands are not touching each other.

Induce hypnosis. You can do so by any means you desire or know of. You can use the process in my self-hypnosis book, use the free audio at this website to practice or have a look at the following articles as and when you need them; they are basic processes to help you simply open the door of your mind:
Heavy Arm Self-Hypnosis Induction Method:

Using eye fixation for self-hypnosis:

The Betty Erickson Self-Hypnosis Method video clip:

Using Magnetic Hands for Self-Hypnosis:

Once you have induced hypnosis, move on to step two

Step Two:

Develop a heightened awareness of yourself. Become aware of your body, the sensations within it, your breathing, and just observe yourself in this moment. Don't try to change anything, just watch and observe yourself in this moment. Become so aware of yourself that you can imagine what you look like in that position that you are in.

Then imagine that you are watching yourself as you relax in that position. When you are aware of watching yourself as you relax in that position, as if you are seeing yourself from the outside, then move on to the next step.

Step Three:

Now as you look at yourself start to float upwards and away from your body, leaving it there in the chair.

Leave the building your body is in and as you float up, imagine going deeper inside your own mind and all the time going higher. Start to notice the surrounding area, notice the life going on and the movements of traffic.

Then start to notice more of the landscape as you travel higher. Start to see the larger land mass and even the coastline as you travel higher, you see less detail of the streets and more of the general surrounding area.

As you float higher, move through the clouds and beyond the atmosphere and take all the time necessary to float up and into space until the entire planet Earth is there is front of you that you can look at in all its beauty and magnificence.

Notice the colours of the planets, the clouds around it and see it from here in space. Spend all the time necessary to do this step in a thorough and enjoyable way, making sure that you notice the different perspectives as you move further away from that point where your body remains.

When you have done this, move on to step four.

Step Four:

From this place in space, totally removed from the planet Earth, viewing the earth and all the life that exists within it from this place in outer space, start to imagine you are sharing and benefiting from the wisdom of the universe. That you are gaining insight, wisdom and perspective from being here in space for a while.

You can then start to think about things you wish to achieve, you can start to contemplate the importance of issues, you can start to consider what is holding you back from achieving what you wish to achieve and just enjoy the freedom and clarity of thought you have way up here.

Use this space and time to ponder, question, think critically and away from distraction and gain some insight. Think about actions you can take, steps that will lead you forward and things you can do to make positive and progressive changes in your life.  When you have spent all the time you feel is necessary to do this, move on to the next step.

Step Five:

Equipped with that insight and perspective, start to return to your place on the planet in front of you. Take all the time necessary to move all the way back down, through the atmosphere and towards that place where you began. Do it thoroughly and a t apace you are comfortable with.

Once you return to your body, start to feel your own sensations and wiggle your finger and toes, get a sense of where you are and open your eyes to bring the session to an end.

Have a good think about what insights and wisdom you brought back with you and choose to take some action in relation to that.

This is a much simplified version form the way I'd run such a session in a therapy session, but it gives us the opportunity to do this ourselves and gain much from it.

So I hope you enjoy getting properly spaced out and enjoy taking your brain to another dimension, to quote one of my favourite bands of all time...

(if you know who said that, send me an email and we can share in some mutual respect for an awesome band!)

TESTIMONIALS

MELANIE RIVERA

Having just completed Adam's 10 month diploma course and thoroughly enjoyed it, it brings me great pleasure to write this review. I just want to say that if you have decided that you would like to embark on a career in hypnotherapy; and you are now at the stage of deciding on the right training school for you...

Search no more, Adam's course in my mind is the best of the best! From beginning to end you will be hypnotized by the way in which Adam delivers his course material to you. I found Adam to be a very fun and charismatic guy; he will have you in stitches laughing! He is a brilliant teacher, very clear and easy to understand.

For me the whole course has been like a personal journey towards a successful ending. Adam demonstrates many of the techniques so you really get to sample how talented he is as a hypnotherapist.

I have to say that on more than one occasion when Adam did a class demonstration; I noticed some big changes take place in my own confidence and in the rate of my learning... I put down this down to benefiting from being in deep hypnosis myself during his demo.

Adam is very attentive and very observant, he doesn't miss a trick. He seems to distribute his attention towards each individual at the right time, as a result you really feel like you get a very personalized learning experience.

I might add that this course isn't a 'cake walk'... Prepare to 'work your socks off!' In terms of homework, you really have to be committed and keep on top of it.

I can honestly say that it is all worth it and, having completed Adam's course, I do feel competent enough to embark on my career as a hypnotherapist.

Adam is unique trainer or, as I like to think now, my mentor. With a perfect balance of seriousness and fun mixed together, he creates an enjoyable and learning atmosphere which keeps you wanting more. I spent over a year looking at different courses and chatting to other trainers and I can honestly say that I made the best choice that was right for me.

Adam's knowledge and passion for the subject surpasses that of anyone else I have met in this field, and Adam is very generous with his sharing of that knowledge. It is obvious from the beginning that Adam knows what he's doing and that you have made the right choice in joining the course.

Prepare to amaze yourself in the things you know and can talk about with others confidently as you progress through the course, I did and I still do today.

If you want an enjoyable learning experience with a trainer that really does want you to be the best you can be, then take that next step. To sum up the course in three words, Creative, Enjoyable, Diverse.

"I attended the 10 month course which ran from October 2011- July 2012.

The course is interesting, fun, fast paced, encouraging, confidence building, skill packing and very professionally run by Adam and his team.

Realistically, it required a lot of committment in time and effort, which in reality was easy to give with the knowledge and new zest for learning that Adam's enthusiasm brings.

Adam and his team were of constant support to me throughout the course and I feel lucky to be able to consider them to be good friends and confidantes now.

I have qualified and feel confident that the knowledge, confidence, skills and practical experience I have gained during this course will serve me very well in practice"..

"I booked up to Adam Eason School of Therapeutic Hypnosis in 2010, and I really did not know what to expect, I was very interested in Hypnosis, but what is taught throughout the diploma course is by far the best around.

Adam's very unique style is very uplifting and thorough and I leave his school with much more knowledge and well trained in clinical hypnotherapy. If you want trained to the high standard that Therapeutic Hypnotherapy should attain then look no further than Adam's School"
